Charge the battery for at least 6 hours after inserting it for the first time. This will ensure a long battery life.
To use your terminal to its full extent, you need a stable Internet connection. To do this, connect your terminal either via a mobile network or WLAN. Detailed information about the different connections, their functions and their use is provided below:
If you have selected "Mobile network" as the connection, the terminal automatically recognizes the PAYONE SIM card supplied and already installed. If you are not using a PAYONE SIM card, please contact our Customer service.
To transfer data in your WLAN, you need to log in in the immediate vicinity of your router.
You will need the following information to log in:
WLAN name (SSID)
This is the name with which your network registers via the radio link.
WLAN key (WPA2)
This key is usually written on the back of the router. It ensures that no one can gain unauthorized access to your network.
Pull down the red bar at the top of the screen
Pull down again at the same point at the top of the screen
Press the gear symbol at the bottom right
Enter the system password (350 000 or 12345) and press OK
Select Network & Internet
Select Wi-Fi
Select WLAN router (SSID)
Enter the WLAN key and press Connect
Pull down the bar at the top of the screen
Select Payment Service
We recommend the following security measures for the secure operation of your terminal via WLAN:
Transaction data (e.g. bank details, card numbers, etc.) must be protected against access by unauthorized third parties during transmission via WLAN. The use of the terminal in an unencrypted environment, e.g. in hotspots or with a WLAN router without encryption, is not permitted.
For legal reasons, only the WPA2 encryption method may be used. Please do not set any other protocols, such as WEP, via the terminal menu!
The WLAN router must be operated securely:
Select the WLAN name/SSID so that no conclusions can be drawn about the router type or the operator of the WLAN.
Reassign the preset password for configuring the router (via LAN cable to the PC).
Use a WPA2 network key with at least 16 characters.
If you switch your router to WPA2, all devices already connected to the network must support WPA2 (conversion may be necessary). (Usually older) devices that do not support WPA2 can then no longer be operated in the WLAN.

In the following section on contactless payment, the term "limit" is used frequently. The limit is not set by PAYONE and is currently 50 euros. If the limit is reached or exceeded, you will be asked for your PIN when making contactless payments.
For security reasons, it is sometimes necessary to enter the PIN or sign the merchant receipt even for amounts below the limit.
Therefore, please always observe the information on the terminal display and the receipt printouts.

Of course, all PAYONE terminals comply with the current guidelines of the German Banking Industry (DK) as well as the security regulations of the international card organizations and PCI DSS.
Only operate your terminal with the original power supply unit. If you attempt to open the terminal housing, the integrated electronics will be destroyed and all sales will be deleted.
The card-related error messages come from the authorization system of the card used. Only the card issuer can provide information on the accuracy of the messages.
If the card is declined, please always pay attention to the additional text from the card issuer. It can give you important information on how to proceed.
