Security of payments TA 7.2
FAQs about TA 7.2
"TA 7.2" stands for "Technical Annex 7.2". TA 7.2 defines the technical standards for processing girocard payments and was established by the German Banking Industry Committee. It includes technical specifications as well as security standards for handling girocard transactions. The aim is to ensure the security and reliability of girocard payments. The rules apply to all certified network operators (NOs) and are mandatory for operating girocard POS terminals.
TA 7.2 is the latest security standard set by the German Banking Industry Committee. By 31st December 2024 all POS terminals processing payments through the German Banking Industry network must comply with the TA 7.2 standard. This is why we are currently carrying out terminal updates.
