EPI stands for European Payments Initiative and is an alliance of leading European banks and payment service providers. PAYONE’s shareholders, the French payment provider Worldline and Deutscher Sparkassenverlag, are also founding members of EPI.

Wero is currently available for e-commerce and m-commerce. Its functionality is being continuously expanded. Planned features include recurring payments and financing options as well as the integration of loyalty and rewards programmes. Wero is expected to be available at physical points of sale by the end of 2026 via QR code and NFC card functionality within the Wero wallet.
