Billing several individual purchases collectively, aggregating micropayments

The aggregated billing of receivables has many compelling advantages. Example micropayments: The larger the billed amounts, the lower the percentage of the costs for handling the payment. You can also minimise the risk of having to pay high chargeback fees if several individual purchases are billed collectively in one operation. In this scenario, you are confronted with complex requirements because your customers expect correct and transparent processes at all times. The Billing module of the PAYONE Platform disposes of integrated business logics which allow you to aggregate receivables and invoice them collectively at a freely customisable date or billing cycle. The flexible layout options allow you to avoid frequently charging small amounts, to simplify your processes and to optimise your costs.

Aggregated billing of individual purchases and subscriptions

The Billing module allows you to aggregate receivables from individual purchases and subscriptions. The resulting total receivables are billed at a freely customisable date or billing cycle, and the payment process is initiated. State-of-the-art technologies and certifications according to industry standards ensure maximum security, performance and availability. Learn more about the PAYONE Platform.

All features at a glance

Keeping and balancing billing accounts

The Billing module provides any required number of billing accounts for each customer. Receivables from individual purchases or subscriptions can be aggregated in one billing account. Each billing account can be settled at a freely customisable date, which will automatically initiate the corresponding payment processes.

Aggregated billing of individual purchases

You can use the Billing module to aggregate any number of individual purchases within a billing account. An individual purchase represents the entire shopping cart of one purchase transaction, and can therefore include any number of items.

Aggregated billing of refunds

The Billing module can also include refunds in aggregated bills. As a negative position, these will reduce the total amount of the receivables to be settled.

Aggregated billing of receivables arising from subscriptions

The Contract module offers you to settle recurring payments for periodic services or fees arising from subscriptions in an aggregated invoice. You can settle any number of subscriptions per billing account. The multiple options of the PAYONE Platform allow you to freely create initial and subsequent contract periods, for example, to transmit these with different receivables and to settle them on any date you wish.

Payment methods and changing the payment method

Credit card, direct debit and invoice are preferred payment methods used for the Billing module, since the customer does not need to personally confirm recurring transactions. The preferred payment method of a customer is stored in the master data of the customer. This can of course be changed at any time.

Integration within the PAYONE Platform

All modules of the PAYONE Platform are perfectly aligned allowing you to fully automate all payment processes. The following provides an overview of how the Billing module interacts with the other modules of the PAYONE Platform. Together they provide a customised comprehensive solution that is perfectly adapted to your individual requirements.

Accounting module

In conjunction with the Billing module, the Accounting module provides a fully integrated debtor management and payment allocation solution for payment methods based on remittances, to enable fully automated payment processes. Return debit notes in direct debit procedures and chargebacks for credit card payments are automatically detected and allocated to the respective receivable. Learn more about the Accounting module.

Protect module

The Protect module of the PAYONE Platform provides you with comprehensive risk management services to minimise payment defaults and to prevent fraud – this, of course, is also provided in conjunction with the Billing module. Learn more about the Protect module.

Invoicing module

The Invoicing module is used to automatically create and dispatch invoices directly to your customers using e-mail or conventional mail. The invoice can contain all aggregated receivables from the Billing module in form of an individual proof of use including detailed information such as the date, a description and individual prices. Learn more about the Invoicing module.

Collect module

The Collect module handles your receivables management and provides you with an automated commercial dunning process as well as the transfer of cases to external collection service providers to recover overdue receivables. It can be fully used in conjunction with the Billing module and provides a fully automated solution for the dunning process following your specifications. Optimise your business processes and increase your liquidity. Learn more about the Collect module.

Contract module

In conjunction with the Contract module, recurring payments and subscriptions are no longer billed directly, but posted to the corresponding billing account in the Billing module and aggregated for billing. Learn more about the Contract module.

Reporting module

The Reporting module of the PAYONE Platform provides access to all information on all completed transactions and operations. Use the PAYONE Merchant Interface (PMI) and the comprehensive interfaces of the PAYONE Platform to find any information you need in a central tool. Learn more about the Reporting module.

Aggregated billing of receivables

Whether you want to collectively bill receivables from individual purchases, subscriptions or refunds – the module aggregates all receivables and processes them in one payment transaction. Your customers will have to enter their preferred payment method only once to consistently enjoy an excellent user experience for any subsequent transaction.

Flexible billing periods

The Billing module allows you to customise all billing periods precisely to the required day and to repeat them in any chosen cycle – individually for each customer, if desired. You can choose to include refunds in aggregated billing or allow interim billing – it is always your specific business model that defines the processes.

Economic billing of micropayments

When billing small amounts, transaction costs are a crucial economic factor. The Billing module allows you to aggregate any number of individual purchases and settle them collectively in one transaction. So you can benefit in two ways: Increased sales receipt values guarantee lower discounts, and an optimised transaction management will help you to reduce chargeback fees.

Perfectly integrated

The Billing module is perfectly integrated with all other modules of the PAYONE Platform. For aggregated transactions, for example, the Invoicing module can create invoices stating an individual proof of use, and the Collect module can handle the receivables management. This provides you with a complete modular payment solution adapted to your needs with perfectly aligned processes.

Centralised management via the PAYONE Merchant Interface

The PAYONE Merchant Interface (PMI) allows you to review all processes and customer data after the first billing cycle. You will find all data in one central tool, from master and payment data to any receipt that was issued.
